Coastal Growers’ Farmers Market can be found on the historic property of Casey Farm, overlooking Narragansett Bay. Our marketplace is carefully curated to offer visitors an interesting variety of goods, focused on local produce, complimented by local artists and makers. At every market you will find fresh produce, responsibly-raised meats, locally-caught seafood, artisanal baked goods, flowers, and incredible prepared foods, many of which are made to order.
Our market was chosen as one of the five best markets in New England by Yankee Magazine in 2011, and we continue to improve and enrich as we move forward. Visitors will find walking tours of the farm, special kid-friendly educational opportunities, and great local music. We welcome locals and out-of-towners alike, and are happy to accommodate tour groups when possible.
Our summer season opens on Saturday, May 9 with Casey Farm’s annual plant sale. Starting May 16, our regular market carries on through October. The market is open to patrons starting at the bell-ringing, at 8:30am until 12:30pm. Please note that pets are not permitted at the market, or on the farm (service animals excluded).
PARKING: There are two parking lots available, plus a small accessible area by the market entrance for people with mobility challenges. We strongly encourage biking to the market, or using RIPTA as parking does fill quickly.
Casey Farm is owned and operated by Historic New England which manages the farm as an organic CSA program (Community Supported Agriculture) with shares are available May through October. There are many education programs at the farm: school tours, summer camp programs and Project Chick . The farm has been in continuous operation since 1720 and is a fascinating place to take a tour to hear the history, see the crops, buildings, beautiful views and farm animals. Check in at the Casey Farm stall for a guided tour, offered several times on Saturdays for a small fee. Young children should always be in the company of an adult because of access to heavy farm equipment and electric fencing around farm animals.
WIC and RI Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program coupons are accepted at many vendors’ stalls. “Fresh Bucks” can be acquired at the Coastal Growers’ Market Stall, affording customers with credit cards the ability to purchase goods without cash.
